Vertis Wealth Healthy/Physical Education Literacy Program

School Support Grants

Purpose

The Vertis Wealth Healthy Education Literacy Program (H.E.L.P.) is designed to promote healthy, active lifestyles among school children in Michigan by supporting the teachers and schools who seek to provide high quality physical education programs.  This program is designed to support projects led by teachers that will lead to one the following goals:

Support Physical Education program enhancement through the purchase of equipment, services or products that will positively impact the lives of children through physical activity;

Promote visibility and support for the provision of high quality physical education events through school-wide health promotion events or programs;

Provide advocacy events/programs for the provision of high quality physical education events through community health promotion events or programs.

Program Criteria

All applicants must be current members of MAHPERD.

Recipients must agree to write a Program Summary for the MAHPERD Newsletter and/or website.

Recipients must agree to attend the Annual MAHPERD Conference and participate in a Care and Share session.

Funding Available

M.A.H.P.E.R.D. members are invited to apply for grants of $500 to 1500 for the 2026-27 school year. Through the generosity of Gary and Jill Harris, owners of Vertis Wealth based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, $10,000 has made available for this program.
